Canyon Primary Care now accepts referrals for Registered Dietitian Medical Nutrition Therapy and Nutrition Consultations.

Meet the Team

Our Registered Dietitians can help your patients either in-office or virtually. FOR INSURANCE COVERED services, you must be seen and evaluated by your primary care physician or specialist. Most insurances require the physician to state in their note that nutrition therapy is medically necessary. Therefore, REFERRALS ARE NECESSARY for INSURANCE.

Paying out of pocket is also an option. Please call our office to schedule.

Alyssa Los

Alyssa Los has been a Registered Dietitian for six years where she has specialized in plant-based nutrition, lifestyle medicine, digestive wellness, oncology, and global health. She also acquired her Registered Nurse degree and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nurse Practitioner degree to combine medicine and nutrition to create a holistic approach to patient care. She employs motivational interviewing techniques, SMART goals, and the transtheoretical model of change to help clients create sustainable changes. Her passion lies in helping clients reduce socioeconomic barriers and comorbidities with conscious lifestyle choices. She will be hosting group community outreach programs at Olakino to teach clients about the benefits of lifestyle medicine’s seven principles involving movement, nutrition, social connection, nature, managing stress, having adequate sleep, and avoiding unhealthy substances.
